Good points. I think I need to order a couple of extra magazines.

Well, Chris, not being in LE and not wanting to
pay the $200 FED tax - I can't keep a shotgun with less than a 18"

exposure. So I purchased a SAIGA 20 gauge (imagine an AK 47 chambered for
a 20 gauge shotgun shell) and a Bullpup conversion kit. Now I have a semi
automatic 10 round shotgun that has a total length 26", it is magazine fed, so
no longer period of time shoving shotgun shells up a tube, just slap in another
10 round magazine.
I know that pumps are generally recommend due to their
reliability, but I sort of like one that spits out a round as quick as you can
pull the trigger - can you say 20 rounds in 30 seconds. That should hold
the Zombies at bay for a spell {:>)

When the Zombies come, I want more rounds......
I compromise with The 40 cal....oh, and a sawed off shotgun ;-) (uh, not at
work...that one is standard)
Hmmmm? The sawed off one may fit nicely under the Velocity's back
seat.

Ed,
The way I see it, one 230 grain 45 is equal to two 115 grain 9mm.
So, from that perspective, I'm covered 2 for 1.

Welcome, Mark
Well if not "a" 45 ACP, then perhaps two or more

I would think one of those big wild Texas boars might
be the toughest of the three to stop.

Ed,
Thanks for the link. I went there but they didn't have any 9mm or
22 LR, but I did purchase 500 rounds of 230 grain 45 ACP. Perfect for
my new Sig P220 Elite. I would be very comfortable flying over
wilderness country with this by my side. But here in Texas, the
biggest animal I would have to worry about might be a Western Diamondback, a
wild boar or mountain lion. A 45 ACP ought to be able to handle any of
these.
Thanks,
Mark

I just got a new sig Sauer P226 DAK (40 cal)
and found a 500 rnd case of ammo at this place for a "reasonable"
price:

Sorry Brother, the department supplies my rounds. I must qualify on
Valentines Day....hmmmm. Also, I carry a Glock 22, 40 cal. Yes. I am aware
of the shortage
It's overcast here too and is gonna be at least the next two days, my
days off from rolling and patrolling. Sigh. So tomorrow I will try to
repair my fence so my pup doesn't try to knock-up every bitch in heat in
SE Houston. I can do that in the rain. :-) Yes, I need to fix
him....poor pup....

Chris,
Well, it is low IFR here in Austin-Lockhart today, so the wife and
I went to the shooting range. We would have stayed longer, but in
case you haven't heard, there's a severe shortage of ammo virtually
everywhere. So, tell me Chris, what's the inside skinny on where
to buy 9mm?

Say WHAT? Hastily pulling the wings level, the roar of the

should probably not make continuous turns with feeding from the down

After addressing a clogged fuel filter (ultimately removing
it....very small passages in the screen) I flew again on Thursday.
Just a quick hop around the patch. This is sometime more an issue than
it would seem at a towered field with heavy military/NASA traffic
under Class B. >> >> No squawks and nice data log
with the latest Dynon 5.1 update. Along with "Clouds Ahoy" ya get a
pretty nice picture off the flight and parameters. This was only the
ninth flight but was more fun as I seem to be getting things sorted.
Still haven't left the pattern :-) >> >>
