Earnest; it was nice you got some guys who cared enough to do that!  A couple DAR's in our parts are known to look at nothing on the aircraft, but spend :30 doing the paperwork, grabbing the cash, and splitting the scene!  We have two EAA members who inspect our a/c in the manner of a Condition Inspection prior to the FAA or DAR showing up.  Always important to have multiple sets of eyes checking it all out prior to a 1st flight, etc...  Looking fwd to hearing about your first flight!  Are there any dual control "Deltas" out there?  What does your insurance company want to see you do prior to the first flight?  Fly safe?
