after thinking a lot about the risks and realizing that the plane is a luxury i could get by without, if i was still alive, i dropped all of my rv-6a insurance.  i've paid car insurance for 33 years now and never filed a claim.  i'd drop that too, if the law allowed it.  think about it, they realize that at a certain dollar amount it's a good risk.  don't pay and you are in the insurance business.  thirty three years of premiums i could afford a pretty good payout.  besides, they tend not to sue guys with no money.

IMHO, if you can afford to fly, you can afford to NOT carry insurance.  I hate those guys.
