IMHO, if you can afford to fly, you can afford to NOT carry insurance. I hate those guys.

In order for me to fly it down there with one particular insurance company required a TYPE rating of over 300 hours on a particular type of 172..... Apparently total time, complex and twin time don't mean anything even if you are current in a C 172. He promptly dumped the carrier (wish I knew which one it was) and got another carrier.

Flew a C 172 to Texas from Wi. The individual who
bought the plane was a student and couldn't take it down there by himself.
He got insurance. In order for me to fly it down there with one particular
insurance company required a TYPE rating of over 300 hours on a particular

The insurance companys are getting worse.
Watch the fine print.....
More motivation to get the super rebel
flying.
