I had issues on my car last = year with alternator whine that changed with engine speed getting into = the car radio and my amateur radio equipment. The car started fine and = didn't really exhibit any signs that it was going bad until a couple = months later where it was dead. I replaced the battery with a new one = and all the noise went away. I'm speaking without much knowledge of the rotary engine so I may be = completely out in left field here.
