David,

I too had difficulties in the past with spark = plugs=20 "sticking" in the aluminum housing - yes, I always use "AntiSeize" = compound -=20 but, it still happened.

What I took to doing is using a thread chaser = after I=20 removed the plugs.  Its similar to a tap, but without the sharp = cutting=20 edges, its just designed to cause the distorted threads to form back = into the=20 proper shape.   I found one at an auto store it had a 14MM on = one end=20 and smaller on the other -- I think they called it a "thread=20 chaser".

Don't know if that might help your problem or = not - if the=20 situation was like mine where it as very hard to unscrew the plugs (and = I=20 thought I had stripped mine as well), the thread chaser might salvage = the=20 housing - or as someone suggested helicoil repair (never tried that=20 myself).

Good luck, let us know the results.

Subject: [FlyRotary] Stripped Spark Plug = Threads

I tried to change my spark plugs yesterday, and one of them came = out (at=20 the cost of much skin and grit) after having fused with some of the=20 aluminum.  I am afraid that the threads in the rotor housing are = now badly=20 stripped.

Does anyone know if it is somehow possible to re-tap those, or am I = in for=20 a rebuild and a new rotor housing?
