Hi Folks,
George Lendich (who for some reason apparently can no
longer subscribe to the list) asked me to post their effort to combine a
bellhousing mount and motor mount. It appears to be set up to mount
Tracy's gear box on it.
See his photos. I know nothing more, but here is
George's e mail if any want to discuss it with him

Ed,
Show the boys my attempts - see attached.
This is the one Butch and I worked on. I sent him one
for testing
and it passed with flying colours.
The big cost is in machining after it's cast. Unless
like Tracy you can machine in house.
Can't beat the Al plate for strength though, even it it
looks a bit agricultural, that's why Tracy went that way.
I do like the Mistral design, however they did it
in magnesium fort weight savings, Butch was concerned about
the likelihood of fire with magnesium.
Seems like everything is a trade-off.
A bellhousing made from Titanium would be the go -
strong as steel and half the weight.
Someone with the skills could manufacture them from thin
plate, reinforced with gussets where necessary.
In the end this would be about the same weight as Al,
but stronger.

Hi George,
There has been a lot discussion about making a frontcover
(incorporating motor mount attachements) similar to the one that Mystral made
for their aircraft engine. Someone apparently has access to casting
resources. So a lot of talk about exactly what this front cover mount
should have - water pump? type motor mount? other accessories,
etc.
That's been about it for the last couple of
weeks.
