Lets us be sure that the trailing plugs fire at the same time or later than
the leading plugs. Never before the leading plugs. Very bad Mojo.

It is funny how you can gain more confidence each time you do
something.
Yesterday, I repeated the "locate TDC by finding the null
spot trick". This time it was so obvious where the null was that I went
ahead and put a permanent mark on the timing wheel.
Then I
hooked up the timing light and got some measurements. The backup
controller that will be firing the trailing plugs is sitting about where it
should be...25* BTDC. The primary pickup is way off, giving me somewhere
around 35*BTDC. I'm wanting it to be at 20*. Aargh! I moved
it to far in the wrong direction when I added in the extra advance above the
EDIS limp-home mode's 10*.
I've got to go out of town, but the first
job when I get back is to make an "adjustment" to my VR
mount.
