I installed the deeper 13B oil pan on my Renesis and made a 1/2 inch spacer
to extend the 13B oil pickup so that it would be the same distance off the
bottom as normal.

Doug,

  I don't know if it was me you read about, but I made a spacer to put the
pick up tube back down to the bottom of the pan, both to pick up the oil as
designed, and to support the pick up tube. Otherwise, it would not clear the
plate of the mount, and it would be 1/2" off the bottom of the pan,
unsupported.

  I guess I don't know if it was necessary from an oil stand point, but it
was necessary to get the engine on the plate.

If it was someone else you read about (and there are most likely others that
have done it) then disregard all the above. ;)
