It would be wonderful if we could get rid of it entirely on an immediate basis.

However, if it were optional for gas stations whether they sold E85 or pure gas, maybe we'd see people voting with their money and fewer and fewer gas stations would carry E85 until finally gone.

Obviously this would have to be combined with a grassroots campaign of "look how much better mileage I get with pure gas".

Bill,

Although your points are valid, it is not practical to overcome the ethanol lobby and completely eliminate ethanol from gasoline. Too powerful, and caught up in the ‘oxygenated fuel’ issue.

 

Getting them to have a pump with no ethanol may be possible.

This petition is not worded correctly.  Ethanol is the most ridiculous idea known to man.  It is increasing the cost of almost everything and it takes 1.5 gal of ethanol to get the energy of a gallon of gas.  There is no way that this stupid idea would fly without the progressives in Washington.  The petition should be to do away with this crazy idea and would if it was not a Progressive website!

 

Just look at the other ridiculous ideas that they want you to sign.  Does anybody really think that Sarah Palin had anything to do with that crazy bastard gunning down a bunch of innocent citizens including a 9 year old girl?!!

 

We do need to keep an eye on the newly elected…to make certain that they do what they were elected to do…STOP the damn spending!
