It=92s great t= hat this has have resolved the occasional misses for you. =A0It=92s very puzzling to me that my engine (and apparently many others) has always run smooth at any conditi= on over about 1500 rpm with the same controller a= nd the D580 coils. Has this only been an issue with the P-port?

Yeah, easy for you to say= . =A0

=A0

Flew today and the engine= ran great, although it did miss once while I was tweaking the mixture, so it was most likely mixture related and self-induced. =A0Normally, it would mis on takeoff climb. =A0Today's climb, while only at 2/3 throttle, was smooth as silk. =A0

=A0

So, in retrospect, it app= ears that this was a worthwhile exercise. =A0I wish I could say that for all of my so-called "improvements". =A0

Subject: [FlyRotary] LS2 "Yukon" coil report

Guys/gals,

=A0

I managed to rig up the s= ix new LS2 "Yukon" coils on my p-port 20B today to see if there was any noticeable improvement over the old LS1 "truck" coils. =A0While I had a new set of plugs on hand, for once I resisted installing them so as to not change more than = one thing at a time.

=A0

First impression, beginni= ng with a stone cold engine, full rich on the mixture, two hits of primer, hit the starter and it came t= o life immediately. =A0I mean that it started quicker than my Mazda 3 or my Chevy Silverado when doing a cold start. =A0It idled down to 1500-1600 as sweet as could be, unlike previously. =A0

=A0

I didn't have time to= fully warm it up and do a full power test, but I did run it to a little over 4000 rpm and it ran very smoo= th. =A0

=A0

So, bottom line is that I= am happy with the LS2 "Yukon" coil upgrade. =A0I will post a flight report after I get the wiring cleaned up and flight worthy.
