Great news so far Mark !!...........Can hardly wait for the flight report..........I wonder if the improvement as of this post
is solely due to the stronger spark (120 ma) of the D585 or if the performance of one or more of your old coils was
degraded ??.............After you flight test the new coils it would be interesting if you were to substitute your old coils
one at a time and do a flight test to see if the old miss reappears.............Easy for me to say wasn't it !!................<:)

Subject: [FlyRotary] LS2 "Yukon" coil report

Guys/gals,

I managed to rig up the six new LS2 "Yukon" coils on my p-port 20B today to see if there was any noticeable improvement over the old LS1 "truck" coils.  While I had a new set of plugs on hand, for once I resisted installing them so as to not change more than one thing at a time.

First impression, beginning with a stone cold engine, full rich on the mixture, two hits of primer, hit the starter and it came to life immediately.  I mean that it started quicker than my Mazda 3 or my Chevy Silverado when doing a cold start.  It idled down to 1500-1600 as sweet as could be, unlike previously.

I didn't have time to fully warm it up and do a full power test, but I did run it to a little over 4000 rpm and it ran very smooth.

So, bottom line is that I am happy with the LS2 "Yukon" coil upgrade.  I will post a flight report after I get the wiring cleaned up and flight worthy.

Mark
