Lynn has been a constant proponent of high-powered ignition systems. Not for the standard, loping along, cruise conditions, but for difficult starts and lean mixtures. To tag onto Tracy's analogy, it's easy to start a forest fire with a match or a blow torch if you're on a California hillside during dry season. You'd rather have the blowtorch if you need a campfire and have nothing but some yellow pine after a North Carolina summer storm.
If you've got enough spark for quick starts and smooth cruise, I would think that you're done with worrying about spark.
