The other other pump mentioned in the "Mazmart" site is for the 93-95 13BREW if
using the stock 13BREW waterpump housing............This pump would work but be aware
it is a "Reverse Rotation" pump driven from the backside (flat side) of the serpentine belt
and in the stock configuration has several peripheral parts to drive  and perhaps even an
idler wheel which severely complicates your drive system......... .....David I am reasonably
sure your Bulent "Cosmo" 13B has the stock pump and will best lend itself to the Renesis
pump conversion.............FWIW

Mark, good suggestion. I had seen that they had the pump for two different engines, but my little detailed knowledge of the interchangeability of parts between the different engines left me with questions.

Thank you. The more I learn, the more I realize how much I still have to learn.

David,

Mazmart lists two different engines for their water pump.  My guess is that one of these will fit your engine.  If not, you will have to do the RX-8 pump mod as Kelly described.  I suggest a call to be sure it will fit before placing your order.

David,
If you followed the string of posts recently they  gave general info on adapting the Renesis pump to the
eariler 13B rotarys.........Mark Steitle was the first to retrofit it to his Cosmo 20B/ Lancair ES..........There
was a lot of chatter (a lot from me) concerning how to do it...........Since then Mark has provided a photo
and some general instructions how he did it...............The "Cosy Girrrls" are currently in process adding
the Renesis pump to their 93-95 13BREW engine................Chrissi said they would take photos for our
group when available.............Basically you purchase a 2004-08 Renesis front engine cover which has the
waterpump hsg built into it................Next you bandsaw the waterpump hsg from the rest of the cover and
after a bit of grinding, fileing, etc you clean up all the rough sharp edges and make it presentable enough
to mount on your engine.................At this point it looks like all  but one of the pump hsg mount holes has
matching studs on the Cosmo 20B (Mark helicoiled that one and bolted it)..............The Cosmo 13B and
93-95 13BREW have the same mismatch plus one other.............As you face the front of the engine the
far left hand stud is too low but both these engines have a machined pad just above this stud that is not
drilled and threaded...............The reason being the stock Cosmo 20B pump is slightly larger in diameter
and these engines use that pad but it is not threaded on the Cosmo 13B and 93-95 13BREW.............

That is the way I understand the situation at this point.......Whatever I have wrong about this explanation
I am going to have to depend on Mark and the "Cosy Girrls" to correct me as I have only done  a quick
and dirty fit on one of my 86-91 13B front side housings...........I am 55 miles from my hangar and my day
job (caretaker for mother) did not allow me extended time to check all this out.........I have a Cosmo 13B
but the front cover is not removed and I lacked the time the day I did this............That part was just eyeball
measured.........The Renesis pump can probably be adapted to the 86-91 13B but will involve some more
work as two studs do not match and might compromise pump integrity and rigidity for belt tension loads.

David the "Mazmart" pump is a stock pump with their proprietary impeller installed on it...........Photos
of 20B and 13BREW front hsgs attached...

Please Jump in here Mark and Chrissi give us the straight info and correct anything I have wrong !!.........

Very nice to get just want you want for Christmas. I got a few myself for my Cozy. Wondering if that will fit my Cosmo engine. Are the pumps the same? Sure looks much more substantial and should provide much better flow.
