David,
=A0=A0 If you followed the string of posts recently=A0they=A0 gave gen= eral info on adapting the Renesis pump to the
eariler 13B rotarys.........Mark Steitle was the first to retrofit it = to his Cosmo 20B/ Lancair ES..........There
was a lot of chatter (a lot from me) concerning how to do it..........= .Since then Mark has provided a photo
and some general instructions how he did it...............The=A0"= Cosy Girrrls" are currently in process adding
the Renesis pump to their 93-95 13BREW engine................Chrissi s= aid they would take photos for our
group when available.............Basically you purchase a 2004-08 Rene= sis front engine cover which has the
waterpump hsg built into it................Next you bandsaw the waterp= ump hsg from the rest=A0of the cover=A0and
after a bit of grinding, fileing, etc you clean up all the rough sharp= edges and make it presentable enough
to mount on your engine.................At this point it looks like al= l=A0 but one of the pump hsg mount holes has=A0
matching studs on the Cosmo 20B=A0(Mark helicoiled that one and bolted= it)..............The Cosmo 13B and
93-95 13BREW have the same mismatch plus one other.............As you = face the front of the engine the
far left hand stud is too low but both these engines have a machined p= ad just above this stud that is not
drilled and threaded...............The reason being the stock Cosmo 20= B pump is slightly larger in diameter
and these engines use that pad but it is not threaded on the Cosmo 13B= and 93-95 13BREW.............
=A0
=A0 That is the way I understand the situation at this point.......Wha= tever I have wrong about this explanation
I am going to have to depend on Mark and the "Cosy Girrls" t= o correct me as I have only done=A0 a quick
and dirty fit on one of my 86-91 13B front=A0side housings...........I= am 55 miles from my hangar and my day
job (caretaker for mother) did not allow me extended time to check all= this out.........I have a Cosmo 13B
but the front cover is not removed and I lacked the time the day I did= =A0this............That part was just eyeball
measured.........The Renesis pump can probably be adapted to the 86-91= 13B but will involve some=A0more
work as two studs do not match and might compromise pump integrity and= rigidity for belt tension loads.
=A0
=A0 David the "Mazmart" pump is a stock pump with their prop= rietary impeller installed on it...........Photos
of 20B and 13BREW front hsgs attached...
=A0
=A0 Please Jump in here Mark and Chrissi give us the straight info and= correct anything I have wrong !!.........

Very nice to get just want you want for Christmas. I got a few myself for m= y Cozy. Wondering if that will fit my Cosmo engine. Are the pumps the same?= Sure looks much more substantial and should provide much better flow.
