There's an ad in the local paper for an '87 RX7, described at good body, clean interior, bad engine. Is USD $500 a reasonable price for such? It would give me an opportunity to learn the engine "from the shaft up" so to speak. It seems like that's about the same price I'd pay for a used running engine, but I'm a long way from having an aircraft ready to put it in. I'd like to start applying some of the performance enhancements talked about here, even if only on a "road machine". Is that a viable strategy? Dale R.
