Greetings,
I'm starting to think pretty hard about tearing open my new '87 spec turbo
engine to do some porting and to up the compression to 9.7. I could still
add the turbo for normalization at some point, but for now, I'd probably go
NA.
I was looking at Tracy's page, and noticed the o-ring kit that he sells.
Here's the description:
-----------------
Our engine o-ring kits contain all the INTERNAL o-rings for the engine. This
kit differs from the overhaul kit as it does not contain any "hard parts"
(apex seals, springs, etc). Remember, if you plan to install your engine
into the car, you'll need to purchase the installation kit also. The
installation kit is not required for aviation applications.
Our o-ring kits include Viton rotor oil seal rings and Teflon o-rings,
except for the outer water jacket o-ring, which is made of the stock Mazda
material.
----------------
What else would I need in the way of gaskets?
As for porting, can anyone recommend a proven set of templates? I'd be
looking for good power up to about 7500 rpm. Another (potentially cheaper)
option is to let Bruce do the work. I'd hate to ruin all those new housings.
Thanks,
Rusty
