I came to the realization that NO motor mount should be designed until
you have your engine configuration almost fully finalized first.

There's no problem at all with the mount. It will work either way. The
main problem is the huge growth that I'll have to make on the left side of
the cowl to fit the turbo. The RV-3 is just a skinny plane.
And, remember, turbo shaft end play and side play depend on the oil
cushion pumped into the bearing under pressure. Your turbo may be fine
once oil is in there!!! Don't jump to conclusions.

>From what I've seen, my shaft is at the max allowable limit. There's .020"
side to side play at the nut on the compressor end, and the fins come within
about a micron of touching the housing. This just doesn't seem ideal :-)
BTW- how many RX-7's do you have anyway? I know you have his and hers FD's,
then you mentioned an FC. Any of those have valve covers? Hope not :-)
