I bought a pair of single vee pulleys from Canton Racing (htt= p://www.cantonracing.com/).  I used their p/n 75-209 for the Mitsubish= i 15mm shaft alternator ($38.40/ea).  It is black hard anodized alumin= um.  I have since switched to serpentine pulleys, so I don't need = ;it any longer.  So, if you're interested, contact me off line.

Ed, On the same subje= ct, how many hours are you getting out of your alternator belts?

=0A

I=E2=80=99ve got about 50 hours on mine and am seeing blac= k powder on the top cowling underside and the same on the belts.

=0A

And where can I get a 4=E2=80=9D diameter dual-groove pull= ey for the rotary?

=0A

I bought one from Racing Beat= but it is only about 2.75-3=E2=80=9D diameter =E2=80=A6 would like to slow= my alternator more.

No, Joe, I did not.  I had not realized at the ti= me (boy, have I gained an education messing with this alternative engine st= uff {:>)) that simply putting a circuit breaker in the field coil line w= ould not necessarily turn off the alternator when it was pulled.   &nb= sp;I have verified that pulling the CB after the alternator is turning does= NOT turn it off - at least not mine. But, I never had an automobile altern= ator ever run away voltage wise (all have simply quite producing adequate v= oltage), so decided to leave well enough alone.

I figured my modifications might reduce reliabi= lity and never the kind of problem most feared in aircraft usage, so have n= ot altered/modified it. But, other's have.  It would be interesting to= take a survey and find out how many on the list have or have not modified = their alternators.
