I have = verified that pulling the CB after the alternator is turning does NOT = turn it off - at least not mine. But, I never had an automobile = alternator ever run away voltage wise (all have simply quite producing = adequate voltage), so decided to leave well enough alone. I figured my modifications might reduce reliability and never the = kind of problem most feared in aircraft usage, so have not = altered/modified it. But, other's have. No, Joe, I did not.  I had not = realized at=20 the time (boy, have I gained an education messing with this = alternative=20 engine stuff {:>)) that simply putting a circuit breaker in the = field=20 coil line would not necessarily turn off the alternator when it = was=20 pulled.    I have verified that pulling the CB after the = alternator is turning does NOT turn it off - at least not mine. = But, I=20 never had an automobile alternator ever run away voltage wise (all = have=20 simply quite producing adequate voltage), so decided to leave well = enough=20 alone.
