I used their p/n 75-209 for the Mitsubishi 15mm shaft alternator ($38.40/ea). It is black hard anodized aluminum. I have since switched to serpentine pulleys, so I don't need it any longer. So, if you're interested, contact me off line. Ed, On the same subject, how many hours are you gett= ing out of your alternator belts?

I=92ve got about 50 hours on mine and am seeing blac= k powder on the top cowling underside and the same on the belts.

And where can I get a 4=94 diameter dual-groove pull= ey for the rotary?

I bought one from Racing Beat but it is only about 2= .75-3=94 diameter =85 would like to slow my alternator more.

No, Joe, I did not. =A0I had not realized at the time (boy, h= ave I gained an education messing with this alternative engine stuff {:>= )) that simply putting a circuit breaker in the field coil line would not n= ecessarily turn off the alternator when it was pulled. =A0 =A0I have verifi= ed that pulling the CB after the alternator is turning does NOT turn it off= - at least not mine. But, I never had an automobile alternator ever run aw= ay voltage wise (all have simply quite producing adequate voltage), so deci= ded to leave well enough alone.

I figured my modifications might reduce reliability and never the k= ind of problem most feared in aircraft usage, so have not altered/modified = it. But, other's have. =A0It would be interesting to take a survey and = find out how many on the list have or have not modified their alternators.<= /tt>

Joe, I still fly with the old standard Rx-7 alternator - ha= ve been ever
since I launched in 1998 - never failed so I'm still ha= uling around about

5

lbs more weight that I need to. =A0So can't offer you a= ny light weight

alternators whom I'm certain will offer suggestions.
