Mark, I would definitely look into a mechanical
retention on the oil seal. In May I lost the output shaft seal on my
Marcotte Redrive, the gear box apparently expanded enough from heat to eject the
seal. We haven't had the time to look into the gearbox as yet, but will
make a report on it, on teardown. JohnD
