I think there are enough reckless drivers around, to make it possible for
the rest of us to find an engine at the scrapyard....

A good point Martin. Most scrap yards have a core pile for engines with
obvious damage that cannot be sold as complete running replacement engines
because of a cracked front case or smashed front pulley set. This is a good
place to buy a few engines real cheap. You might go through 2 or 3 teardowns,
but you will probably end up with enough parts for a good running engine. My
first rotary was $25.00 from a junk yard just south of the Charlotte Motor
Speedway.

around the
world, it is not obvious how to compare in some defensible way the
potential
output of a rotary to a piston engine. So in my rule book, My 12A engine
is listed
at 2292 CCs. It isn't that displacement at all. It is 1146 CCs and some
little bit but
that is of no interest to the people that make the rules.

The Sports car club says it is 2292CCs, and half of that would be
1146CCs.
It is between 1147CCs and 1146CCs. Mazda rounds it up to get a whole
number.
The club rounds it down to get a whole number. I don't know the actual
size but
let us say it is 1146.0496CCs. Why not say 1146 or 1147?

In this RPM range, the 13B is king.

    Soo...what happened to the 20B....????

In the comparison between the 12A and the 13B there was no 20B involved.
