He has his 2 evap cores in series - water flows from left core to rt core - in the hose that connects them right over the prop shaft, he installed a drain valve like at bottom of an older radiator. 

 
Thanks for the comments David.  Unfortunately, my cores are so high that there isn't room to put a hose fitting on the top of the tanks.  About the best I could do is a tapped hole, with a low profile plug that could be removed for filling.  From what Ed is saying, it just doesn't sound like this is needed, so I'm not sure what I'll do yet.
