We used a special 1/4" foil faced insulation to get the SS liner to zero clearance fire code. Bottom line: this is some pretty good stuff. I'd be happy to share some of my left over material with you if you think you want it. Also have some 1/2" material too. If you want more info, I'll look up the specs for you. I'll be squeezing pipes between the engine mount tube, and cowl, with just less than an inch to clear on either side. The closest clearance will be about 12"-14" from the exhaust port, so it will still be pretty hot.
