exhaust components?
I agree, Dawley
Stainless is pretty good.
Thanks Todd. So here's another
question- I've got an exhaust pipe expander, that appears to be made to expand
one pipe, so the next will fit inside. Do you think this will
work with .035 wall SS tube? I'm still trying to figure out the
best way to arrange pre-bent pieces, and join them
together.
I spent some time yesterday looking at
tubing benders. I thought I had found a reasonably affordable machine
that would do 1.75" tube. Unfortunately, it requires a minimum of about
.9" wall tubing, to make a 7" radius bend. In talking to a sales guy, I
got a real education on why you absolutely have to have a mandrel bender (HUGE
$$$) to make tight bends in thin wall tubing. Needless to say, I'll be
buying pre-bent sections and sticking them
together.

The exhaust pipe expander most likely will work,
Rusty - especially on that thin walled SS. I have found that the 304 SS
is more ductile than the mild steel to work and I have used expanders to swag
the thin wall tubing. I generally hook up a air impact wrench to
the expander and let the impacing force force the tube
wider.
