I don't know, but I think that is a knock sensor. My block has two threaded holes, one each rotor in that position.

Hi, Bill.....I'm such an idiot.....maybe I should be building a bicycle instead. (Come to think of it, that's how the Wright bros. started).  Item number 3 does NOT have two wires. It appears to be a drain, just as you said.  I neglected to take a picture of the item that truly DOES have two wires on it. It is located just above the top spark plug closest to the water pump. My guess is that's a temp sender, probably takes the place of a cylinder head temp on a Lycoming?  Here is a picture.  Thanks for setting me straight.  Now, if I can just get my pictures in order.....  Paul Conner
