Sure, most anything can be done.  Its a question of how much time, effort & money it takes.  I'm currently working on a version of the EC2 (for a non aviation customer) that will have knock sensor input, oil injection pump control (renesis type) and wastegate control.   These things will eventually wind up in the aviation version as well.

What would be involved in keeping the knock sensor and having it light a light or
alarm on the panel.  I know it's not  part of EC-2, but could it easily be made
useful at all?
