Dave L - I guess I was impressed when van told me that the RV-6 had not been tested past 2 spins, and that any more was uncharted territory. obviously he was CYA having been sued twice now by ex-employee widows [unfairly in my opinion]. I thought that when my plane was pointed at the ground swirling around, definitely not flying, that I was in a spin. I purposely pulled out after a revolution, fearful of doing say, 6 revs again, which scared the hell out of me when I did it before. don't tell my wife about it. even though I once worked for McDonnell-Douglas I can't add "test pilot" after my name [how 'bout carpenter?] or even "navy pilot". I won't explore the flat or inverted spin possibilities. I'll admit tho' I'd do it with someone who know what he was doing. every book I've seen says "don't try this without professional instruction" which admittedly, I've ignored. but, yes, I'll hold the camera. let's do it out here over an active volcano [mt st helens] in the middle of the cascade mtn range! :-)
probably not really smart, but a whole lot of fun.
that's where we connect! kevin
