my engine is a 1.48lb/hp and the AeroV VW is
1.98lb/hp. It doesn't get much better, especially if one wants to stay with
existing technology.

Don't get me wrong Richard. I'm mighty
impressed with what you've done. It's just unfortunate (for me) that it's still a bit too
heavy to use in place of a 912, or VW, since those are the types of
planes that I've been looking at recently.
Cheers,
Rusty
Hey, Rusty.....have you considered the smaller
2-rotor Wankels similar to the one they have here at the St Elmo airport that
is installed in a two seat ultralight? That model is only 80 HP, but I
understand the newer models are 120 HP? It is a very neat, compact,
small engine, with a very small frontal view/size. The intake/injectors
really hug the engine, making it one of the most compact engines I have
seen. Looks like it would fit in my glove compartment. For what it's
worth. After you fly off your 40 hours, maybe you'd like to take a short
flight over to St Elmo (next to Mobile, AL) and I would be happy to show it to
you. The owner is a friend of mine. Take care. Paul
