Subject: [FlyRotary] Re: SINGLE
ROTOR
Looks good Richard. I'm still interested in
single rotors, but the weight just isn't quite where I need it to be for the
planes I'm looking at. It would be great if this could match the weight
of a VW engine.
Have you, or anyone else found a lighter
substitute for the iron housings? Racing Beat sells an aluminum
version of the rear, and center housing, but they don't yet have a front
housing available. That's supposed to change in another 6 months
though. Unfortunately, they're about $1200 each, but save about 12 lbs
or so for each housing. RB claims that these are actually more durable
than the iron housings.
I know there was a guy on the list that was making a
titanium engine, but I haven't heard from him in a while.
Thanks,
Rusty (redrive re-installed with the original
plate)
