Oly Olson responded to my e mail and provided the following information which is all he has at this point.  So thought I would share it with you.  It occurred to that possible fuel vapors, don’t know what the temps were but see Oly wearing a jacket in the videos, it probably was not that hot  – and  I also know Oly has a 6 psi pump which would tend to prevent that – no float bowl in the Ellison either for fuel to heat up in.  Hope he finds the answer.

Ed,

Just a quick note, haven't got much news at this point.  The engine quit on downwind for no apparent reason.  When I got it back to the hangar today I was able to turn the prop and felt like it had normal compression. I got the cowlings off & it looks like all the fuel lines were intact, no oil lines broken, no leaks etc.  The fuel tank stayed together and still has fuel.  I will investigate further and as soon as I now something definite I'll touch base again.
