However, a continuity checker may not be the best way to ascertain the state of the resistor. The reason is some continuity testers are meant to test for a path of low resistance - like a wire- and beep. If they encounter over a few dozen ohms resistance - you get no beep or LED lit. That could lead you to the impression the resistor was no good, when it actually was. An ohm meter (volt ohm meter) is the best way to test for continuity in a resistor - besides; it will indicate the resistance value of the resistor enabling you to ensure you've got the right one. Some times trying to read the resistance code on a resistor (if there is on) can get confusing. When a resistor fails no electricity will be flowing so a simple continuity test across the resistor will show if it has failed, correct? -- Homepage: http://www.flyrotary.com/ Archive and UnSub: http://mail.lancaironline.net:81/lists/flyrotary/List.html __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 3267 (20080714) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 3267 (20080714) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com
