I just happened to get in on a group buy and got a pretty good discount... still not cheap, but less than I had budgeted for. TAS reported is calculated by the EM-2 and is in kts. I've seen 210 once in a descent (239 mph), but I try to stay below 200 kts (230mph). I'll get some better numbers once I make some longer x-country flights at altitude. The published cruise numbers, if they can be believed, are 192-200 mph with an IO-360 Continental, and 220-225 mph with an IO-550 Continental. WOT, in level flight, I have seen 185 kts (212 mph) TAS which in between the IO-360 numbers and the IO-550 numbers. She burns a lot more fuel at that MAP, so I usually throttle back to about 22", 10-12 gph. Mark On Mon, Sep 8, 2008 at 1:26 PM, wrote: > Mark wrote: > > *The real "jewel" has been the c/s prop. Doug,
I went with a 76" C/S M/T electric.

The real "jewel" has been the c/s prop.  This allows me to cruise at around 10.6 gph at 4200-4500 rpm, 153 TAS.  Until recently, I had been cruising at 5200 rpm, burning 14-15 gph.  Speeds are about the same.  Keep in mind that I normally fly at 3500-5500 msl.  I anticipate lower fuel burn at higher altitudes.  I'm planning a trip to Galveston in October and I can try out this theory then.

So which CS prop did you end up installing?  An IVO by chance?  Also, is you TAS in Kts or mph?

Thanks for the great update!
