Group,
    Attached are links to the "Mallory" pressure isolator that is compatible with
alcohol/methanol to be placed between the "VDO" fuel pressure sender and the
possible alcohol laced fuel that many of us in various parts of the country have
had forced on us by our government men-ions...........Might be advisable since
Tracy has noted that "VDO" now says their senders are not to be used with
alcohol/methanol.........FWIW

Guys,

AutoMeter makes a unit but it specifically excludes alcohol/methanol. The Mallory 29806 unit is supposedly compatible with all fuels and is available from several sources.

Summit Racing has the Mallory unit for $68.00.

Great answer Mike.   Do you remember the cost?

I used a fuel pressure isolator (I think it was an AutoMeter part). Provides a barrier between the fuel and your sensor/sender. Use water/antifreeze between the sender and the isolator.

Tracy;

I'm glad you mentioned that.  I was about to conclude that the problem was incorrect data, not faulty regulator.  I could not be sure that the richer mixture I had connected with the first occurrence of higher fuel pressure was cause and effect – I possible had not leaned again after climbing to a higher altitude – then noticed the mixture and the higher pressure reading.  On the second occurrence I had not noted a mixture change.  Flew for an hour today (beautiful up and down the beachJ) and the fuel pressure was always where it should be.  The sensor offset was also what it should be. So until it happens again . .

Are you going to replace the VDO sender?

Looking for a possible replacement is on my To Do list but not near the top yet.  I inspect the sender for leaks whenever I'm under the cowl but never seen any hint of a problem so far.
