Those things were geared pretty tall trying to get some fuel mileage out of them. They would run faster in 4th that they would in 5th. They wont anywhere near a RX8.....may just be all its got. I jsut got my 74 REPU running and was disapointed with its performance. Seemed like back in 1974 they were a bad ass. but compared to a 1600cc piston engine, it was a bad ass. I was thinking more like RX8 power. But it was only rated at 125 Hp I think back then....a RX8 is 235. What should I expect????

It sounds like a good place to start looking for sure.

We had it smogged yesterday (we live in CA) and everything came out fine.
