There is no danger in anyone who has even limited hearing that they will operate a Mazda unmuffled at full throttle long enough to get off the ground. It will make you throw up. It will confuse the operator. It is not even a nice sound. It is horrifying. I used a muffler before it was required. I have a second regular car muffler that I plug in during ground runs. Just so nobody gets hurt from our required 103 dB onboard muffler.  

 

That resonator looks just like a Mazda racing muffler.

I wouldn't call it "quiet", but I've had people say they like the way it sounds. Time will tell its reliability.
