A worn ball bearing set on the input shaft will give out a tick when the
bearing shows its bad spot to the race.
A nice clacking sound. Kind of random. Listen to the front of the trans
with a stethoscope or long screw driver handle pressed to your ear.

I'll try to determine if the sound is
