It will have no trouble transfering the thrust from one end to the other. Sorry, couldn't resist that :>) Lynn already pointed out the serious flaw in your end play fix. That pilot bearing gave me fits to remove.. we had to dremel it and pry
it out.. but it was all out to my knowledge.

Im pretty sure the end play was correct - I either talked to you or
bruce on the phone a while back (2004?? 2005??) when we got to this
stage because my end play was a little low - 2 or 3 thousands too
tight.. and it was fixed by wetsanding the spacer (with the letter on it
to denote size) for a bit to bring the end play into range (rather than
ordering a new spacer)

I am guessing it happened with the pully swap months later.

The coolant issue confounds me though.
