Yeah, my Lancair came with the same blanket, and I am still debating whether or not to put an additional piece of stainless between it and the fiberglass.  There will be several penetrations, including fuel, hydraulic, and electrical, and there is just something about a piece of steel, that feels good.  Might add about 2 pounds, but.......

Thomas,
The Lancair comes with a custom firewall blanket.  While it is aluminized, I don't know what is underneath the aluminum foil.  I can say that it is much thicker than the Zetex material.

Mark,

On the Zetex 600... are they used aluminumized 600 for firewall insulation?

The Zetex 500, I did buy the roll, mainly to use as a large fire curtain for my welding area!  With Texas humidity my lathe and milling machine do rust, so the silicone material seems idea for my wife to sew up a couple of machine covers for those applications!
