On the other hand, an engine can still breath through a stopped turbine wheel. But not through a stopped roots blower. The Roots consumes usable energy from the engine. The turbine recovers wasted energy.
The turbine is lighter than the Roots. The roots is more fun in a street car because it is "ON" all of the time.
 
Little to no spool up time. The Roots takes up a lot of space. The number of aircraft using a Roots type
supercharger is..................
 
However it is called Experimental, and it would probably work just great.
