YMMV Ed An alternator failure on my friends Bonanza got him a $300.00 estimate from the mechanic to fix that one. (Brushes) He said the brushes for a car alternator would not work at altitude. So he took the number for his Motorola to the NAPA store and got some low altitude car brushes and fixed the thing himself for under $15.00. They have only run for 6 years now, so he is not sure if the guy was right or not. Lynn E.
