Just a comment,
I've just let my EAA membership lapse.
Since I joined in the 60's, (7000 series #)
the organization has become less
EXPERIMENTAL, and should change the name. It was a better group who's focus was
experimental. Them days are, I'm afraid gone forever.
I believe that it has become a
very good means of employment for the Pober family, nothing wrong with that, but
bringing in money seems more important the roots. I do applaud the efforts to
bring peace between the FAA and the GA community, but why not drop experimental
from the name since that is no longer the focus.
Truly, how many of us out there can afford,
much less operate a bizjet, no matter how small. Even a Cirrus, beautiful
aircraft that it is, is beyond most folks reach. I know the purists would like
to believe that plans built is the way to go, but Van's, Zenair, Rans, Sonex
etc. are a valid starting point from which to experiment, engine...panel and so
on. We need info on doing these things, not who just got promoted at XYZ
aircraft corporation, and who just got a new 1/2 million dollar aircraft
certified.
Sorry about the rant, but as I was
shredding the membership renewal, I felt the compulsion to get it off my
chest.
