Mazda redesigned the intake duct system in 1995 and put it into production in the foreign models sold till 2000. There was reverse airflow occurring in the system, and all the baffles had to be intact to make it work adequately. There are LOTS of problems with the way the FD cooling system does not seem adequate for anything but daily driving. Lots of mods have been made over the years of 1993-2000 to that system. Marc Wiese
