What downsides are there to running individual
exhaust pipes from each rotor instead of combining into a manifold and single
exhaust. This question came after seeing a picture of a P-51,
which has 12 individual exhaust stacks. The immediate advantages are:
easier fabrication, no need to allow for manifold/pipe expansion.
