Forgot to mention that a good product for sealing the gaps for testing is a gray sealer putty that is used in HVAC work. Commonly referred to as "gorilla snot". Not sure what the real trade name is. It is similar to plumbers putty. You can make a "snake" out of it and use a long stick with a round end like a tongue depressor to push it into place. Seal ALL the leaks, even a small one can make a big difference.
