So I am looking forward to using the new software. Rusty, since you never flew with the old software, you have nothing to compare it to, but how do you like it? Is it ready for release to the rest of us? Tracy, any idea when this will be available?

Todd and all,

As I understand it, the software is available to anyone who wants it.  In my case, I didn't even have mode 9 on my original version, and I certainly needed an upgrade to work with the eventual monitor-2 <G>, so it was well worth the upgrade.

The dual map feature will be nice, if I ever get around to tuning it, but tuning it hasn't been a priority yet.  When I descend, the air fuel meter is blank, below lean, and the engine sometimes does miss a bit.  I can turn up the mixture to compensate, which is perfectly fine for now.  The second MAP is calibrated either in flight, during actual descents, or you can do it on the ground without the prop.  I'll probably do the initial cal of the second MAP table the next time I pull the prop to re-pitch, then I'll touch it up in flight.  Since I have a single seat plane, and lots of traffic around the area, it's just a little dicey to try to spend much time tuning in-flight.

Cheers,
Rusty (the new cowl is here)
