I have read that some people are running Pports with RX8 apex seals.
I have not measured an RX8 apex seal but are they really any shorter than the outer piece of the older 3-piece
apex seals that ran over peripheral port exhausts?
I think if you follow Lynn's comments on a soft bevelled landing for the apex back onto the chrome you should be OK.
Cheers
Cary

Monty,
I wouldn't take the chance with a RX8 apex seal going over any sized hole. Their not designed to do that as they are much smaller in height and IMHO they will flex and spit out of the hole. Deeper 2mm slots have been tried, with RX7 two piece but even with a wire cutter there is a small ridge left, which might hang up an apex seal - so I'm going for a 3mm apex seal.
The slot depth is 9.8mm and is just as easily cut with a fly cutter as a wire cutter.
George ( down under)
