Thomas,
The EC2 doesnt know what kind of prop its attached to. It cant tell. It doesn't make adjustments based on prop type.
I signed off of the other list over a year ago and haven't missed his drivel since.
What the EC 2 DOES do is have a two separate maps, the regular one, and a map that is set for High RPM low MP (essentially for power off fine pitch descents where you are using the engine as a brake). The changeover point for that map is user defineable. So you can customize it to your setup. I guess paul would have felt better with more maps with more changeover points or something.
In my opinion this is more about Tracy not selling Pauls book, so Paul is trying to undercut Tracy's product. Feel free to call out to Shady Bend and talk to Tracy yourself. He stands behind his product. THere are people flying behind adjustable pitch propellors with his EC2. The only difference between and adjustable pitch and constant speed is the inclusion of a controller. The controller doesnt know or care what kind of engine its attached to, it just seeks its set RPM by adjusting pitch.

Tracy,
what was this talk (some time ago on the other list, .....I get the essential stuff, but delayed...) that your EC2 is not compatible with a C/S prop?
That it does not work on a dyno?
Would you please care to clear up the "smoke"....
How far is your EC2 from a true FADEC (or whatever Mistral is calling there system)
You are already trying the Fly-by-wire throttle - is it a lot more for a FADEC?
Single power-lever (maybe the prop-rpm separate or even that controlled by single lever), no mixture adjustment needed...
Best Regards,
TJ

What was causing it?

Don't know exactly. Added additional filtering on the circuit board :
1000pf capacitors were added to:
All fuel injector signals
All ignition control signals
RX input
TX output
47uf, 16V tantalum were added to each processor
Pin 8 of connector is now grounded.
Pin 28 of connector is now grounded.
