Here are some details of the drawings for the Flaconar F-12
standard engine mount per design. It is standard on many certified Jodel and
Emeraude aircraft in Europe. Hans Teijgeler is running his Engelfeler Subaru
on his Jodel DR1050 putting out about 160 hp w/ a constant speed prop on his
mount built this way.
The same deal with a set of doublers is supporting a full size Lycoming, so
there is little to no need for any improvement.
It is just different from the usual practice. Not better, not worse, just
different. Some designs
just make your skin crawl when seen for the first time, but they work as
well. It will be fine.
